In an operation focused on combating drug trafficking in the west of the department of Huila, the authorities captured a man in possession of a .22 Colt caliber pistol, used during World War II.

The police operation, led by intelligence and criminal investigation units, took place on public roads, on the banks of the La Plata River, near the San Antonio neighborhood. The capture was possible thanks to complaints from local residents, who alerted the Police about an individual who was wandering suspiciously in the area.

During the arrest, several items were seized. Among these is a Colt .22 caliber pistol, with serial number 670xxx, accompanied by 10 cartridges of the same caliber and 19 booster cartridges, as well as a supplier and a jar of black powder. Two metal containers with a vegetable substance similar to marijuana, totaling approximately 70 grams, a marijuana grinder, a gray gramera, two gluers for assembling marijuana cigarettes and a package of paper for making cigarettes were also seized.

Additionally, 50 medium bags and 30 small empty zip-lock bags were found, along with four small bags and one medium bag that contained a beige powdery substance, with characteristics similar to bazooka, totaling approximately 24 grams of this drug.

The detainee, identified as a man from Fusagasugá, is also accused of lack of food assistance. Colonel Carlos Eduardo Téllez Betancourt, commander of the Huila Police Department, indicated that the individual was placed at the disposal of Prosecutor’s Office 23 of the municipality of La Plata, where he will face charges for drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
