An alleged leader of the Central General Staff, FARC dissidents, was captured in Dagua, Valle del Cauca. This is alias David or Calvito, who, according to the authorities, would be part of the Jaime Martínez front of that armed group and would be behind several attacks against the public force.

The capture of this man was carried out by Army troops and the CTI of the Attorney General’s Office. The authorities say that alias Calvito was the leader of the group in the Santa María and Limonar area, and that he had been in the criminal organization for more than five years, where he would have committed different crimes against uniformed officers and civilians.

According to the information provided by the Army, this man apparently participated in the harassment of the Dagua Police station on May 20. Also, he would be responsible for installing fences and banners referring to the structure, as well as developing and planting mines in the rural area of ​​the municipality.

During the capture of alias Calvito, the authorities seized two 9 mm caliber pistols, as well as the ammunition for the same weapons. After his capture by troops from the Third Brigade of the Army, the alleged leader of the front Jaime Martínez was left at the disposal of the competent authorities to pursue his prosecution.
