The electoral results in the entity are the reflection of the public policies implemented by the current state administration for the benefit of the people of Potosí; The inhabitants of the 58 municipalities experienced a peaceful election day, with high citizen participation and without incidents that put the integrity of the voters at risk.

This was highlighted by the head of the General Secretariat of the Government, José Guadalupe Torres Sánchez, who said that “the work carried out by the authorities is reflected in the polls, so it is the duty of the state to maintain the good rhythm in the main guiding axes of the State Development Plan”.

He stated that in San Luis Potosí there was a great election day, with harmony and social peace, “from early on thousands of young women and men, adults and people of legal age went to their respective polling stations.”

There was a white balance in the process, he added, and soon the governor will begin coordination with the elected authorities in the Presidency of the Republic, the Senate, the federal councils, the 58 city councils and the LIV Legislature of the State Congress “because any system Democratic requires balance and it is our commitment to accept the popular decision.”

The state official insisted that “thanks to the coordination between federal, state and municipal authorities, a special surveillance and citizen service operation was implemented in the 58 municipalities, which allowed order to be imposed in some incidents such as the arrest of people who “They were allegedly trying to buy votes and that the competent authorities will be in charge of resolving their situation in the next few hours.”

He considered that after the results obtained in a historic election “where we Mexicans elected the first woman president, the State Government ratifies its commitment to maintain public policies aimed at guaranteeing the well-being of the people of Potosí.”

Finally, the person in charge of internal politics in the state admitted that there were some complaints among citizens about the delay in installing the polls, however, citizens who came to vote joined the officials in a true display of civility.
