For the first time in the department, the School Feeding Program -PAE- was launched with a differential indigenous approach that benefits 2,589 students in the community Senú of the municipalities of Necoclí, Arboletes, San Juan de UrabáSan Pedro de Urabá, El Bagre, Zaragoza, Caucasia and Cáceres.

This Indigenous PAE seeks, in addition to nutritional benefits, the recovery of food and gastronomic autonomy and highlighting the importance of consuming foods typical of their culture. Governor Andrés Julián Rendón, highlighted also that food handlers are going to be paid.

“This year we have focused on alleviating this hunger situation with a focus on those who are in a situation of extreme poverty, with which to go hungry. That is something that we cannot continue allowing in Antioquia.“said the president.

According to the departmental entity, this strategy has an investment of 853 million pesos and is planned to be replicated in the other indigenous communities of Antioquia such as the Embera Chamí, Embera Eyabida, Embera Dobida and CunaDule.

During a visit to San Juan de Urabá, the Tacanal indigenous Rural Educational Institution was delivered, the third of the five indigenous schools that EPM – through the Aldeas program – and the Government delivered this week also in Necoclí, San Juan de Urabá and Arboletes, benefiting about 450 indigenous boys, girls and adolescents.

“Inauguration that will benefit more than 100 children and the indigenous community of Tacanal and its surroundings. The indigenous school feeding program, a program that is purely for indigenous communities in favor of strengthening identity and the meals that are made here in our territories,” highlighted Miriam del Carmen Bravo Díaz, coordinator of the Tacanal Indigenous Rural Educational Institution. .

The delivery of these five schools was carried out to comply with the agreements of the minga that organized the OIA in previous years and where 12 indigenous educational centers are intervened. In addition, two other educational headquarters have already been delivered in Bajo Cauca.
