More than 2,300 people remain missing in Casanare » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

More than 2,300 people remain missing in Casanare, after the armed conflict, so the missing persons search unit works harder to help the families of the victims.

This is a team that aims to respond to the request of relatives and begin the search process for people who have been reported missing for more than 20 years, reported Adriana Pestana, regional coordinator of the UPBD.

The official said that 1,300 people have already filed their request for the search to begin.

He stated that the number of missing people could rise because it is believed that the law of silence has reigned in this territory for fear of what could happen, which is why individual and personalized spaces were opened so that there is privacy in the data.

He said that the UPBD has three pillars, which are humanitarian, non-judicial and confidential, so those responsible are not sought and the three tools are used so that the actors in the conflict reveal data that allows those missing persons to be tracked.

He pointed out that so far 49 bodies have been recovered, 7 deliveries and one reunion have been carried out.
