A traffic accident in the province of Mendoza ended with one fatality and one seriously injured. This is a 14-year-old teenager who was driving the Hilux truck owned by his father when He lost control, crashed head-on into a pole and died on impact.
The event occurred this Monday around 8 p.m. in the Fray Luis Beltrán neighborhood of the department of Maipú. Next to him was another minor, 13 years, who was assisted by signs of multiple trauma to the skull. He was rushed to the Humberto Notti Hospital, where he was admitted out of danger.
According to what police sources reported, the truck was traveling on Santa María de Oro Street, an artery that has a lot of gravel in its path. For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle, skidded, hit a pole located near the party wall of a home and then overturned.
In this way, after the overturn, the vehicle was severely damaged, leaning on its side against the wall of the house and with one of its sides completely dented.
Although the Volunteer Firefighters, Road Coordination and police jurisdiction personnel quickly approached the scene, they confirmed that the driver died at the scene. According to the local newspaper ONE, the neighbors gave two possible versions that would explain how the event that ended in tragedy occurred. Some claimed that the teenager, who supposedly “knew how to drive,” He had borrowed his father’s car. and he authorized it. Others pointed out that, although the young man knew how to drive, He had stolen his father’s truck without his permission. to go out for a ride with his schoolmate.
After the crash, neighbors complained about the poor condition of the road, something that could also have had to do with the accident. According to statements, it is a street that does not support more than 60 km per hour, in addition to having wells, several curves and countercurves and also poor lighting.
