LOGROÑO, June 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government Council has authorized the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural World and Environment, the approval of the expenditure destined to aid for the improvement and creation of municipal agricultural infrastructures for an amount of 1.5 million euros.

The beneficiaries, explained the spokesperson for the Rioja Government, Alfonso Domínguez, will be the town councils and their smaller local entities, giving priority to those municipalities that have municipal ordinances for the conservation of roads and other municipal infrastructure.

80 percent of the budget planned for this type of investment will be reserved for requests that aim to invest in new roads or improve existing ones, and the remaining 20 percent for other infrastructure. If the available budget is not exhausted in any of the two previous general lines, the surplus may be assigned to the other, if it proves to be in deficit.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Environment declares the following municipalities as areas affected by the DANA episodes in the months of August and September: Alcanadre, Ocón, Ausejo, Santa Lucía, Bergasa, Tudelilla, Corera, Villar de Arnedo, El Redal and Santa Engracia de Jubera. These municipalities were not included in the extraordinary call approved through resolution 205/2023, of August 24, 2023, but in compliance with the commitment reached after the strong storms suffered at the end of last summer, they will be able to obtain subsidies of up to 100 % of the amount of repairs to infrastructure damaged by a natural disaster. Meanwhile, aid for the rest of the municipalities may represent up to 40% and 60% of their investments.

As the main novelty, the increase in the maximum eligible investment stands out, which amounts to 100,000 euros, increasing this amount for those municipalities with an area greater than 100 square kilometers, which may reach 150,000 euros. Furthermore, for those investments derived from damage due to natural catastrophes, the maximum eligible investment will be 250,000 euros.

The deadline for submitting applications will begin the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of La Rioja, expectedly this week, and will end on June 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The maximum period to resolve and notify the resolution of the procedure will be six months from the end of the application period for the call.
