All Colombians who are pensioned have the right to an additional allowance to the 12 to which they are entitled by law. This is the well-known allowance 13 or also called ‘bonus’. In addition to this payment, which is usually made in June or December, depending on the pension fund to which you are affiliated, Some people have access to another additional allowance, allowance 14.
Each of these installments corresponds to the payment of 30 days of pension and each fund has the freedom to choose the date and the way in which these payments will be made. For Colfondos private pension funds and Porvenir, a different payment schedule is managed, in which only some members receive their ‘premium’ in June and others only receive it until December.
Who are the Porvenir affiliates who receive the June bonus?
Monthly payments are usually made in arrears, however, this fund has the advantage of paying the month in advance, which means that payment is issued in the first 10 days of each month.

The 13th allowance, ‘premium’, or the additional allowance in this fund is paid until November, exactly on the first day of the month. In June, payment is only issued to those who are entitled to receive allowance 14, that is:
- All people who began receiving their pension before July 29, 2005, regardless of the amount of the pension, as long as it does not exceed 15 minimum wages.
- People who received their pension between July 29, 2005 and July 31, 2011 and who, at the time of meeting the requirements to access a pension, received an initial pension amount equal to or less than three minimum wages.

Do Colfondos members receive a premium in June?
Contrary to the case of Porvenir, in Colfondos payments are handled the other way around. In this pension fund, the 13th allowance or ‘the premium’ is paid in June and Allowance 14 is issued in December only to those it corresponds to.
According to the specific payroll payment schedule for pensioners, for this year, Colfondos affiliates will receive on Tuesday, June 25, their ‘bonus’ or allowance 13. This will be submitted along with the payment that corresponds to the month of June. On the other hand, allowance 14 will be rotated until Tuesday, December 17.
