Within the framework of the communal stage of the development of the 2024 School Sports Games under-14 category, the commune of Vicuña completed the communal qualifier in the sports disciplines of handball, basketball and futsal, both for men and women, the competition was held at the Neftalí Reyes School in the town of Tambo, teams that now begin a period of training and preparation, in order to face the provincial stage, to begin in the coming days, in the development of the basketball tournament, stood out for their level game Trinidad Pinto Ossandón, who when delving into more details of her sporting performance, is a player who, despite her young age, is an outstanding basketball player. This stage was supported by the DAEM of Vicuña and is organized by the National Sports Institute and Mindep Coquimbo.
Trinidad Odette Pinto Ossandón, sixth year student at the Joaquín Vicuña Larraín School in the town of Tambo, commune of Vicuña, member of the school team, in the last communal tournament for the School Sports Games, was a pillar in the victories and subsequent classification to the provincial day of the school quintet, where together with her companions, in this regard she points out: “Our participation in the championship was good as a team, we gave everything and well, because we all made an effort, we trained together and we acted as a team,” he noted.
Trinidad confesses that she is passionate about basketball. She plays as a pivot, where her main task is to be close to the board to collect rebounds and start plays or score points. Her passion for basketball leads her to train almost daily, both for a club that plays in the Vacuñenes league or the Joaquín Vicuña Larrain School team, where training is Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Vicuñenes sports center and the rest of the week in other places, his aspiration is to reach the Chilean basketball team For this purpose, he works together with a group of teachers, in the process that leads to the selection, for which the technicians prepare his record, to present it to the Chilean Basketball Federation and they carry out game tests.
