As part of the measures adopted for the smooth development of the event, the celebration will be strengthened with a logistical and human talent plan designed to guarantee optimal security conditions for both locals and tourists.

The Government of Tolima, the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué and the Metropolitan Police coordinate a robust security and logistics plan to guarantee the proper development of the 50th Colombian Folk Festival, a cultural event that will take place in the musical capital and that represents the artistic expressions of all the country.

In a recent festival organization committee, the governor of Tolima, Adriana Magali Matiz, highlighted the inter-institutional coordination achieved for this important event which seeks to shine with security and its natural approach, the celebration of the country’s cultural wealth.

“In this articulation process we are already absolutely clear on the entire cultural issue, on the logistical issue and also on the security issue that we are going to handle in the celebration (…) we are going to have the participation of 25 delegations from the municipalities, from the department in the departmental reign, but we are also going to have broad participation in the national reign and also with some delegations from some countries that are going to come as guests,” Matiz indicated.

Regarding security, the Secretary of the Government of Ibagué, Edward Amaya, emphasized the commitment of the authorities to guarantee tranquility during the event that will take place from June 15 to 30 in the capital of Tolima.

“We have worked with the mayor and the governor and with all the teams to make this an event that all Colombians attend as safely as possible,” said Amaya. In addition, he mentioned that a significant reinforcement of police officers has been arranged who will arrive in Ibagué and other municipalities of Tolima in the coming days.

For his part, Colonel Diego Edixon Mora Muñoz, commander of the Metropolitan Police, detailed the security planning for the festival, indicating that more than a thousand men will be dedicated exclusively to the folklore events.

“We have a very planned organization with the logistics part, all the secretariats, everything that has to do with the mayor’s office, where we have arranged among the personnel that arrives from the General Directorate of the National Police and the Metropolitan Police, more than a thousand men dedicated only to what folklore events have to do with,” said the colonel.

Mora also assured that the city’s security will not be neglected and, on the contrary, will be strengthened, with a logistics and human talent plan designed to guarantee optimal conditions of security and coexistence in the more than 60 events that are part of the programming. official of the event in stages such as the Tolima Theater, Murillo Toro Park and Mayor Coliseum.

With these measures, the authorities seek to ensure that the 50th Colombian Folk Festival is a memorable and safe celebration, inviting all Colombians to enjoy the festivities in peace and harmony.
