The Experimentation Center of the Teatro Colón, under the direction of Diana Theocharidis, presents the performance Hello, Andy?, written and directed by Alfredo Arias and starring Alejandra Radano. In this work, Radano gives life to Joan Crawford, who dialogues with Andy Warhol through a film made by Juan Gatti and Ignacio Masllorens.
Premiered as a monologue in 2018 on PROA, “Hello, Andy?” combines theater and cinema in an innovative staging. Ignacio Masllorens filmed the original presentation, which was then animated by Juan Gatti, transforming the monologue into a visual kaleidoscope that explores Hollywood cinema and the art of Andy Warhol.
The work chronicles a crucial moment in the life of Joan Crawford, Hollywood legend, as she faces her decline and seeks relevance in Warhol’s world of contemporary art. Crawford attempts to replace Elizabeth Taylor as Warhol’s muse, resulting in an imaginary dialogue that reveals the loneliness of a former star and the clash between two artistic worlds.
