San Juan is preparing to receive a new edition of the Llamarada Fair, an initiative created by a group of six art and culture enthusiasts. The event that will bring together design and illustration will take place at the Conte Grand Cultural Center on June 8 from 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The Llamarada Fair was designed by Pictollama, an artistic collective formed by Lulito, Mariana, Gabi, Lurdes, Agustina and Agustín. The group met at an illustration workshop taught at the Conte Grand by Lulito, who, along with Mariana, is a visual arts student. Gabi has a degree in literature and a teacher, Lurdes is a music student, Agustina has a degree in advertising drawing and Agustín studies Graphic Design. United by their love for art, they decided to create this fair to promote local culture and social awareness.

The Llamarada Fair is more than an event; It is an opportunity for youth to showcase their creativity and connect with the public. “We firmly believe that it is important to give a dignified place to culture, and opportunities to the artist,” Mariana explained. The Pictollama collective is convinced that initiatives like this are essential for the cultural development of the region.

For the Llamarada they invited more than 60 exponents to the room. There will be illustrators, designers, discussion panels, shopping stands, artistic workshops, drawing jam, piñata for adults, graphic market, music by DJ Napo and other interactive activities that will last from afternoon to night.

Among the invited artists will be Sheik Tatto, Vvomitattoo, Dark Barbie Tattoo Medusa design, Meli Belén, Alaiz Wings, Panqueque Assassin, Lucas Esequiel González, Gisel Fuentes, Mafiacat, Prototypo, Facundo Gérez, Melanie Figueroa, Carolina Magalí Gerez, Liliana Poblete , among others.

The origin of flare

The Llamarada Fair was held for the first time last year in the anniversary month of Pictollama. The main objective of the event is to connect, promote and grow the illustrative, graphic and artisanal culture of San Juan. “We think that the art, design and illustration sector in San Juan has a lot of potential, there are numerous cultural creators with incredible talents and original ideas, which is why we consider it essential to give them the space,” says Mariana.

This year, the Llamarada Fair promises a unique experience, far from a conventional fair. Visitors will be able to enjoy a wide variety of artistic techniques, such as screen printing, printmaking, clothing customization, design, drawing, painting and digital art. In addition, there will be other items such as crafts and gastronomy.

The selection of exhibitors was carried out through an open call through Google Forms. Featured activities include volunteer artists who will paint live, a drawing JAM, a Creature Factory workshop led by artist and professor Federico Hueso, and a piñata for adults starting at 9 p.m.
