W Radio exclusively learned of two photographs in which the mayor of Santa Marta, Carlos Pinedo, apparently reunited with César Gustavo Becerra Gómez, alias ‘Camilo’, who is commander and spokesman of the Conquering Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra Nevada (ACSN).

After this news, Pinedo spoke with La W and assured that he was “held” by that Armed group in 2023, but the version that Intelligence gave to La W was that these events occurred in February 2024.
“I was detained on April 2 in La Tagua by an armed group of six or seven men with rifles. They took my phones and disarmed my escort. I was not clear who the character was, (but) they began to talk to us that they wanted to be linked to Total Peace and that that was the message they wanted to send to the President Gustavo Petro (…) the people who held me were recording me,” he said.
After the interview, the mayor sent it to this media outlet where it is evident that he filed a complaint before the Prosecutor’s Office in 2023 where he made reference to crime of “constraint”, but not of kidnapping.
