When the break was detected on Echeverría Street, about 80 meters from its intersection with Blas Parera Street, a quick operation was implemented to intervene on the conduit located more than five meters deep.

The work of the municipal staff began before midnight and continues during these hours, uninterrupted. The work was undertaken with heavy machinery and special lighting fixtures.

As a result of this situation, the supply of drinking water is restricted in the eastern, northeastern and southeastern areas of the city, served by the Parque Del Lago and Lola Mora distribution centers. They comprise practically the entire urban ejido of the city located to the east of Ayacucho and Artigas streets.

It is estimated that the repair will be completed during the morning. Then the filling of the reserves of the two distribution centers must be restarted in order to have pressure and flows to inject the purified supply into the public network.

Subsequently, water service will begin to be restored throughout the affected area, gradually and progressively.

The Undersecretariat of Sanitary Works, which depends on the Secretary of Public Services, works in the area. (APFDigital)
