This Friday afternoon, the Santiago Metro once again presents frequency problems on Line 2, in the middle of rush hour. Specifically, the Santa Ana combination between Line 2 and Line 5 is suspended.

As reported by X, it is a problem with the tires of one of their trains. They would be working on it, to restore train circulation.

Auditors from La Radio contacted Radiograma to report what happened. According to what they indicated, they felt a type of explosion, presumably from a tire.

Likewise, they indicated that the damage would have occurred in car one of the affected train, when it was at the Santa Ana station. The latter was closed for a moment, but has since been reopened.

On the other hand, in X, users also comment on what happened. “Literally something very loud sounded and everything echoed,” commented one of them.

They normalize service after technical failure

After approximately 25 minutes of delay, L2 service was completely restored after a temporary interruption at the Santa Ana station, located at the intersection of Manuel Rodríguez and Compañía de Jesús.

According to the background, The failure occurred due to a problem in the tires of one of the trainswhich caused the partial suspension of both the Santa Ana station and the combination between Line 2 and Line 5.

The interruption, which directly affected passenger circulation, could be resolved within 5 minutes.

The technical problem caused many people to go to Los Héroes station, one of the closest, to be able to make connections with Line 1 or continue their journey to Line 2.

But after solving the problem, the doors of the Santa Ana Station were completely open and there is no type of interruption.
