In his explanation of the lines of work, he referred to the need to increase nickel production, make tobacco income profitable, develop innovative Biotechnology products, strengthen tourism, and create new exportable products and services.
To this he added introducing technologies for the production of sugar and its derivatives, as well as a financial strategy that supports exports and minimizes the impacts of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government.
In this context, the head of Citma commented that to buy corn and soybeans more than 500 million dollars are needed, however, “based on science we have developed varieties of corn and soybeans that have higher yields and we must introduce the results.” .
On the other hand, he said, we are working on the development of a vaccine for dengue, first of all for us, but which can become an export line.
Even when the projects are focused on economic issues, their impact must be inclusive for the entire society, said the expert.
