“Everything on the Street” is the name given to the operations organized by the Municipality of Valparaíso, through the Technical Assistance Department (DAT), whose objective is the cleaning and maintenance of the Port City, trying to avoid micro-garbage dumps and clandestine landfills in urban sectors, and especially in streams.
What is sought is for the residents of Valparaíso to be able to dispose of bulky items, such as debris, mattresses and disused furniture that cannot be removed by the home cleaning truck, and in this way, deposit them in places adapted by the Municipality. These operations are coordinated with the Municipal Zone Offices (OMZ) and the idea is to remove the bulky and disused items that the neighbors may have, such as refrigerators, mattresses, furniturebthem, etc. “We have managed to remove 151 truckloads of bulky items, which is equivalent to 200 tons, thus preventing these items from ending up in the ravines and we can prevent emergencies.”
