Capture of one of the videos in which young people are seen armed with machetes.
Photos and videos circulating on social media in recent hours, particularly on Cuban Facebook accounts, show a crowd of teenagers at the Finca de los Monos, in El Cerro, armed with knives, and dozens running in a stampede.
In several videos you can see groups of boys walking or running with machetes in their hands.
The events would have taken place on Saturday, June 8, during a party at the beginning of summer organized by the UJC (Union of Young Communists). There is talk of rival gangs fighting in the place and its surroundings.
According to circulating testimonies, there were several injured and dead, and the victims would be minors. There is talk of at least 5 deaths. It has also been mentioned that there would be serious injuries; information pending to be confirmed.
The place of the events is called Quinta Las Delicias (Santa Catalina and Palatino), but everyone knows it as Finca de los Monos. In 2019 it became a Technology Palace and Recreational Park intended primarily for children, adolescents and young people.
