Through an ordinance of the Departmental Assembly of ChocóThe youngest municipality in Colombia was created: Nuevo Belén de Bajirá,the same one that this Sunday celebrates its first elections for mayor and Council.

Henational registrar, Hernán Penagostoured the polling stations and polling stations,verifying the readiness for the closing of the polls, where the pre-counting of the votes has already begun.

Total,8,972 citizens were eligible to vote in these elections.The National Registry Office installed 31 voting tables, distributed in 11 positions, one in the municipal seat and 10 in the townships.
