The drop in cement sales reached 60 percent in La Rioja
The sector that markets construction materials from the province of La Rioja say that they are going through an alarming situation, because sales so far this year have fallen precipitously, including cement.
«The sales issue is down, this drop was 45% until two months ago, now it has added 15% more, it is very stagnant. As a positive fact, the price rose 30 days ago and did not rise again. In the market you can get between 8,200 and 8,600 pesos per bag,” said Pablo Chamia, owner of the Loma Negra distributor.
Along these lines, the businessman added that “the stoppage has to do with public works, the private sector does not influence the macro, because public works gives you the greatest movement. “If we have six or seven thousand workers who had jobs in public works, they spent money and also built.”
Then, he added that “some corralones make promotions and offers” to try to boost their sales, even lowering their profitability, but it is not enough to understand that there is little monetary circulation.
