Following the latest death of a tourist on the beaches of the Cholon Islandthe mayor of Cartagena, Dumek Turbayreported that they are working on some solutions to guarantee security and order in this tourist space of the Bolivar.

He assured that they are advancing in the installation of a unified aquatic command post for “improve infrastructure capabilities that allow us to guarantee order and safety for operators, tourists and natives in both Cholón and Playa Blanca.”

Likewise, Turbay expressed that they will make different investments from the Cartagena Mayor’s Officein addition to complying with actions already stipulated in these tourist spaces.

The mayor’s announcement came after the Attorney General’s Office requested to evaluate the suspension of activities in Cholón, pointing out that it was “vital to ensure security.”

On June 2, a tourist died after being hit by the propeller of a boat.
