In the afternoon of this June 9, the Bogota City Hall confirmed, through a statement, the death of a child under 3 monthswhich belonged to the Embera communityestablished since October 2023 in it National Park.

According to the authorities’ report, the same community brought the baby to a permanent ambulance in place so that received pre-hospital care. The health team found the minor with rigidity and dilated pupils. A regulatory doctor later confirmed the death.

Prosecutor’s Office Officials They transferred the minor to the facilities of Legal Medicinewhere the autopsy and it will be determined the cause of his death. With this, there would be two cases of Embera children dying in the National Park.

Secretary of Government, Health Secretary, Police and the ICBFprovide support to the minor’s parents, who must go to the Puente Aranda Prosecutor’s Office to present an interview before the prosecutor, and the minutes will be given to you to be able to remove his daughter’s body from Forensic Medicine.

The Mayor’s Office extended its condolences and made a call to the National Government to provide comprehensive care for the Emberá communitywhich allow an effective and safe environment.
