As expected, the payment of the first installment of the half bonus will be a headache, both for employers and workers. And from the Economic Federation of San Juan they have already announced that there will be sectors that will implement it in up to three installments.
“Last year we already had problems and this year several sectors will pay the bonus in two or three parts because the flow of funds is not enough to cover the payment in one go,” explained Dino Minozzi in dialogue with Radio Estación Claridad.
In that sense, the head of the Economic Federation and also representative of CAME in San Juan, admitted that “we know that the decision is not going to sit well with the unions, but they must understand it.” However, he clarified that “we will make the effort and we are doing what we can, because we are adjusting to a new system of how the economy moves and it is a process that takes time to reach recovery.”
Finally, he said that among all the sectors that drive the local economy, the industrial sector is the most affected (it fell 11.7% nationally in the first quarter and has accumulated 10 months of declines).
“In recent months there have already been between 160 and 180 layoffs, despite the fact that the SME businessman tried to retain his staff until the last moment,” concluded Minozzi.
