Havana, June 10 (ACN) Within the framework of the meeting of the Brics Plus Ministerial Council, which meets today in Russia, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, held exchanges with his Egyptian counterparts, Sameh Shoukry , and from Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, to analyze the state of bilateral relations.

Rodríguez Parrilla, invited to participate in the meeting by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, reported in X that when Shoukry met he recognized Egypt’s active role in putting an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Likewise, he highlighted on behalf of Cuba the high agreement between both countries on the main issues on the international agenda, as well as the good state of ties.

In a meeting with the Belarusian Foreign Minister, the two parties highlighted the progress achieved in multiple areas of their bilateral relations, said the head of Cuban diplomacy.

Rodríguez Parrilla expressed Cuba’s willingness to continue expanding economic-commercial and cooperation ties with Belarus.

The head of the island’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also plans to meet with his counterparts from Brazil and Turkey, and speak at the expanded session of the Ministerial Council, where the 10 member states of the group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) will be present. , Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Iran), and heads of foreign policy departments of other like-minded countries.

At the end of the meeting, which will continue until tomorrow the 11th in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, Rodríguez Parrilla will travel to Moscow to complete an official visit.
