Normal to moderate precipitation and winds are expected this week.

There were at least three emergencies on the weekend of June 8, due to the intense rainfall and wind left by the frontal system in the Los Ríos Region.

For Daniel Epprecht, regional director of Senapred Los Ríos, this frontal system has been intense, however, citizens are a little more prepared.

“As a result of this weekend’s rainfall, there was a small mass removal on the route in the Los Molinos sector. Personnel from the Municipality of Valdivia were in charge of clearing the route,” he said.

In the Malalhue sector, Lanco commune, a flood occurred. “The water drainage area was cleaned. This event did not affect any homes,” added the regional director of Senapred.

Finally, after 10 p.m., it was reported that a tree had fallen on top of a house in the Cutipay sector, on the way to Niebla. “Although the home was completely destroyed, there were no injuries,” Epprecht said.

Weather forecast

For the week of June 10, according to what the Chilean Meteorological Directorate indicates, the skies in Los Ríos will be completely cloudy, with constant rain and showers.

During the afternoon of this Wednesday, June 12, there will be winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour. Thermometers will range between approximately 12 and 13 degrees.

This is why Epprecht calls for caution and prevention.
