Students narrated through WhatsApp groups the robberies suffered in recent weeks.

At the bus stop. On the way to the Bus Terminal. In the area of the intersection where the new traffic light is. Or anywhere in the 9 de Julio park. The incidents of insecurity generated concern among the students who attend the Julio Prebisch Center of the UNT, who narrated through WhatsApp groups the robberies suffered in recent weeks.

In parallel, authorities from the National University of Tucumán and the courses taught at 800 Benjamín Aráoz Avenue announced the return of the safe corridor system, one of the measures that the students had requested through their representatives.

Hundreds of students attend that sector of the 9 de Julio park every day, where the faculties of Philosophy and Letters operate (it also includes other careers, such as Communication, History, Social Work and English), Psychology, Dentistry and Physical Education. These days, through WhatsApp groups, Communication students shared stories about different assaults recorded recently.

For this reason, the house of higher studies confirmed the return of security operations in the Prebisch Center area and the general secretary of the UNT, José Hugo Saab He maintained that “the police presence will be restored in that corridor, which extends from the El Bajo roundabout to police station 11, covering the entire Benjamín Aráoz avenue.”

Meanwhile, the dean of Philosophy and Letters, Sergio Oscar Robin, highlighted that “the camera dome in front of the entrance to the Prebisch Center has been recovered, providing important coverage and allowing the Police to intervene quickly in the event of crimes.” “The constant monitoring of these cameras is a key tool to improve security in the area,” he added, in dialogue with UNT Media.
