The Folkloric Ballet of the Province prepares the premiere of “PRIMAVERAS”

Within the framework of international LGBTIQ+ pride month, the Ballet Folklorico presents its new work: “PRIMAVERAS”. The show will feature the special participation of guest choreographer Yanina Soledad Del Arco, winner of two “Premios Chúcaro 2022” for her outstanding work “Migajas”, recognized as the best choreography and best work of hers. Her participation enriches the Ballet’s artistic and professional approach, taking dance from its foundations to the forefront of contemporary fusion.

“PRIMAVERAS” addresses gender diversity as a common thread. The work presents a story told from two different perspectives: on the one hand, it reflects the circumstances and situations that society accepts as “normal” and assigns to a specific sex; On the other hand, the same story is told without making visible this basic division between the binary attributes of gender established by society throughout history.

Through the narrative, it sends a clear message about how art should not discriminate or make gender distinctions in any situation or circumstance. Instead, it promotes respect and acceptance of the identity that each individual chooses to perceive of themselves.

On the other hand, the director of the Ballet, Daniel Espoz, coordinated dialogue tables with leading organizations on LGBTIQ+ issues to unify voices and have support for respectful and coherent joint work. Among the references who spoke were Itatí Carrique, secretary of Women, Gender and Diversity of the Ministry of Government, Human Rights and Labor; Mary Robles, representative of the Association of Transvestites, Trans and Transsexuals of Argentina (ATTTA); Pía Ceballos, representative of Argentine Trans Women (MTA); Jorge Liquín, coordinator of Medusa Salta (diverse and inclusive sports) and Fundación Economía Positivo; Diego Escalante, General Secretary of the Salta LGBTIQ Pride Foundation; Diego Mariano Ocampo, reference of the Kiki Ballroom scene in Salta; ARPIAS, a lesbo-trans-activist multi-cultural space; Ana Perez Declercq, director of the Violence Observatory and facilitator of Diverse Crianzas.

Tickets will be available soon at http://www.saltaticket.gob.ar. Students and seniors will have free tickets, with space limits.
