The Pearl of the South is preparing to welcome summer with the vibrant “Cienfuegos Ciudad del Mar” Music Festival. During the last three days of June, the city will be filled with melodies and rhythms that promise to enchant young and old alike.
The staggered programming of the festival covers a wide variety of musical genres and will feature the presence of prominent artists, providing Cienfuegos residents with a unique cultural experience, the organizers reported.
The majestic Tomás Terry Theater, one of the main sponsors of the event, will become the heart of the festival. Every night at nine, the stage will witness memorable performances, namely:
June 28: Eme Alfonso and his group will open the festival with a night full of energy and talent.
June 29: Space dedicated to Cuerda Viva, a program that celebrates Cuban alternative music.
June 30: Raúl Paz will close the presentations at the theater with his unmistakable style and charisma.
Ateneo del Terry Room: Tribute to the Trios, the Bolero and the Trova

Friday the 28th: The trios Los Bohemios, Los Embajadores and Los Emperadores will delight the public with their harmonies.
Saturday the 29th: Dedicated to bolero, an emblematic genre of Cuban romantic music.
Sunday 30: The trova will be the protagonist, closing this space with a flourish.
Café Terry will also be a meeting point for music lovers, presenting talented artists at different times, such as Adrián Berazaín, Luis A. Barbería and exponents of Cuerda Viva.
Meanwhile, the Artists’ Workshop on Calle La Mar will open its doors to the public from mid-afternoon, with the project “Al Compás de las Olas.” This space will feature the participation of the Cienfuegos Folkloric Ensemble and the mariachi Los Reyes. In addition, other Mexican music groups, such as the mariachis Norteños and Los Galanes Aztecas, will perform in this central point in Cienfuegos.
As a spectacular closing of the festival, the Muelle Real roundabout will vibrate with the presentation of Alexander Abreu and Havana D’Primera, promising an unforgettable end to these days of musical celebration.
These days of enjoyment and recreation are the result of the coordinated effort of the Provincial Directorate of Culture, the Government and various institutions, which have come together to offer the population of Cienfuegos a summer full of music and joy.
