The National Petroleum Company (Enap) and the Federico Santa María Technical University (USM) signed a collaboration agreement on Friday, June 7, to integrate inclusive labor practices, which enable the incorporation of women at technical and professional levels in the energy sector.

This agreement, which was signed by the rector of the USM, Juan Yuz Eissmann, and the corporate manager of Enap People, Andrés León, covers various areas of cooperation between the state company and the university to attract and retain talents, especially women. , in careers related to the energy industry. The initiatives include professional internships at Enap, promotion of theses and degree projects on company topics, as well as networking activities such as visits to facilities and talks by professionals, among others.

Rector Yuz Eissmann said: “this agreement, with its special focus on gender and equity issues, helps us move forward together on concrete actions. With these systematic actions we can contribute to building a more egalitarian and fair society, in which everyone’s capabilities are recognized, and that also allows us to move towards national development.” For his part, the Enap People Manager assured that the agreement is “a crucial step in attracting women in technical and engineering careers, and the collaboration with the USM allows us to strengthen our capacity to innovate and be competitive.”

León added: “At Enap we aspire to be a key player in the energy development of Chile, also generating value for the communities and territories where we operate, convinced that through this type of alliances we can continue building a more sustainable future for all and all.”
