In the Security Council with the Public Force, Mayor Johana Aranda announced a tough crackdown on crimes in the city.

After completing a Security Council, Mayor Johana Aranda announced several immediate decisions to combat the criminal acts that have been occurring in Ibagué.

One of the main determinations announced by the president is related to the militarization of the city in different critical points.

“After carrying out an analysis of the homicides that have occurred in the city in recent days, we have decided that both the Police and Army are present with their special forces in the most affected areas”, the president indicated.

Another fact that the Mayor revealed is that all the victims had judicial records, mainly for theft, micro-trafficking, personal injuries, among others; which would indicate an alleged ‘settling of accounts’.

Thus, among the conclusions, the coordination of judicial authorities such as Sijin, the Police Intelligence Section and the Gaula, in charge of advance investigations to combat crimes.

Likewise, the publication of the most wanted poster and activation of rewards, for those who offer information that leads to the capture of those responsible.

In operation, thes control visits in the neighborhoods with the greatest crime impactwith units of Urban Special Forces and motorized units of the Army.
