An unmissable panorama that brings together adults and children around magical stories and unforgettable adventures will be offered at the Cineteca PUCV. Once again, the seventh art will be part of the panoramas of these winter holidays at the University, with a program that includes ET The Extra-Terrestrial (1982); Mary Poppins, which celebrates 60 years since its premiere in 1964; the colorful and musical The Wizard of Oz (1939), which is still current at 85 years old, and The Neverending Story (1984), with four decades under its belt.

All screenings are free and will take place at the Cineteca PUCV, located at Avenida Brasil 2830, Valparaíso, between Tuesday 2 and Friday 5 July, at 11 a.m. The screenings -dubbed into Spanish- are open to the internal and external public, with no prior registration required.

“As a University, we believe that the arts, and in this case cinema, contribute not only to creating spaces for recreation, but also to the appreciation of collective life and the recovery of the city and its heritage spaces. We are also training the spectators of the future, to contribute to developing the capacity for observation and critical reading of cultural phenomena,” said Bernardo Zamora, director of Artistic Cultural Links at PUCV.

“Our purpose is to offer a transversal program for many generations, so that the children of yesterday bring the little ones in their family and can relive and share those emotions and stories that captivated them forty, fifty or more years ago,” explained Verónica Muñoz, manager of programming of the Cineteca PUCV.

The selected titles received recognition from the film industry and over time, for their aesthetic, cultural and historical value.
