The only town in Rioja where Vox won the European elections

The electoral map of La Rioja after the European elections has turned blue. Of the 174 municipalities in our community, the Popular Party has won in 139. In addition, there are three others in which there has been a tie with the PSOE and another, Navajún, where there has been a three-way tie between PSOE, PP and Podemos.

But there is a small pocket, there in La Rioja Alta, where the electoral result is quite curious. In Torremontalbo, of the five votes that were registered, three were for Vox, one for Frente Obrero and a fifth for the Popular Party. It had already happened in 2023, when Abascal’s supporters garnered four votes. Also in the 2019 European Championships, Vox won. Furthermore, in the municipal elections he votes for the Independent Candidacy of Torremontalbo.

It is curious that vote for Frente Obrero, a formation that defines itself as patriotic-revolutionary and rejects the left-right dichotomy, since they consider everything within the same system. Among the groups that make up it are the aforementioned party, Juventud Combativa (its youth), the Frente de Obreros en Lucha union and Esperanza Obrera.
