This Monday, the Colombian ambassador to the United Kingdom, Roy Barreras, installed the former Minister of Mines and Energy Irene Vélez as new consul in London.
“Thank you President Gustavo Petro for inviting me to continue contributing to the #GobiernoDelCambio from a diplomacy for peace, environmental justice and life. My experience and commitment are at the service of Colombians in the United Kingdom. Count on an open-door Colombian Consulate,” Vélez said in his X account.
He added, the new diplomat that her work will be focused on issues of peace and climate change.
