In that sense, the director of Community Development, Carla Meyer, explained that “we consider that based on what the Navy and meteorology experts have explained, we will request SLEP (Local Public Education Service) to suspend classes, but with food delivery for the boys and girls who come, since, many times, it is the only food they receive during the day.”

As for shelter locations for homeless people, the municipality will have the O’Higgins Stadium as a shelter, where, together with the other institutions belonging to this Network, they will be provided with the necessary support.

Regarding the work carried out, Mayor Jorge Sharp announced that from the municipality “we are fully prepared to face any complex situation that may arise on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.” Likewise, he expressed that “the suggestion we make to all employers in the commune is to make worker assistance more flexible; particularly on Thursday, through teleworking or permits, because Thursday is a complex and dangerous day in terms of what we can have.”

Along the same lines, Ubaldo González, in charge of the Risk and Disaster Management Department of the Buenos Aires mayor’s office, pointed out that “all municipal teams that have territorial deployment, both machinery and personnel, are available to respond to possible emergencies. that can occur in the commune.”

Carla Marín, who is in charge of Risks and Disasters of the Regional Presidential Delegation, commented that from the different entities “we have coordination, all the teams will be deployed on the ground, accompanying, executing and coordinating with risk situations.”

A call for prevention and protection was made by the Navy and Carabineros, who expressed that it is advisable to go out only when necessary and if driving, do so with caution.
