An incident on Avenida del Río, in the center of Pereira, occurred around 5:30 am in a residential area of ​​the city. The origin of the explosion is attributed to a small truck that was transporting two stationary propane gas containers. According to reports, one of the containers released some of the hydrocarbon, causing the explosion.

A video from a security camera captured the exact moment of the explosion, showing a first explosion followed by another seconds later.

In the images, a man is thrown to the ground by the shock wave and rolls several meters before getting up, visibly confused.

Luis Carmona, a resident of the area, described the scene: “There were two explosions at the same time. I came out and found the neighbors burning in flames and more than one neighbor affected.
