Antonio Caballero and Cristian Álvarez, last Sunday afternoon, took advantage of the absence of the owner of a house in Loteo Las Marías, in Chimbas, to commit an ‘escruche’ type robbery. They took a 32-inch television, a 15-kilogram jug, a camping jug, numerous pairs of shoes and clothing. After being arrested a few minutes later, they were sentenced this Tuesday.
Once they managed to leave the house, they decided to carry the loot on foot, which caught the attention of the neighbors, who reported them to the Police. When they were sighted, police personnel asked them for identification and proof of ownership of the objects. Not being able to provide them, they decided to abandon everything and flee, but they were captured a few meters away.
This is how this Tuesday, in a brief court hearing, they were found guilty through an abbreviated trial and sentenced to six months in prison. However, ultimately only Álvarez will effectively serve the sentence in the Provincial Penitentiary Service, while Caballero will remain on parole.
