Former world number one Rafael Nadal, the current ATP number two, Carlos Alcaraz, the last Olympic medalist of Spanish tennis, Pablo Carreño, the number 1 in the doubles ranking, Marcel Granollers, and Alejandro Davidovich are the five shortlisted players to represent Spain in the Paris Olympic Games, as announced this Wednesday by the Spanish coach, David Ferrer, at the RCT Barcelona-1899.

In addition, tennis players Sara Sorribes and Cristina Bucsa are chosen by national coach Anabel Medina to be part of the provisional women’s list for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

From the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, as part of the celebration of its 125th anniversary, both coaches offered the list of Spanish tennis players pre-classified for this summer’s Olympic event, although it is not yet a definitive list.

Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, signed up with Davidovich and Carreño in the singles category, could also play together in the doubles tournament, a desire that both tennis players had recently expressed, although there is still nothing confirmed beyond the fact that Marcel Granollers, number 1 in the world in doubles, he will play doubles with a partner yet to be confirmed.
