Social organizations, picketers, leftists, Peronists, human rights organizations, neighborhood assemblies and unions began to mobilize at 9 in the morning towards Plaza Congreso, to protest against the Basic Law that will be debated in the Senate and that already has half a sanction in deputies. The intention is pressure parliamentarians so that they reject the initiative of the Executive Branch.

The broad political spectrum of organizers ensures that the Today there will be a massive concentration and they promise to “challenge” the extensive deployment of federal forces which has already been ordered by the Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, to enforce anti-picketing protocol.

In fact, The surroundings of the Legislative Palace are fenced and security was reinforced inside Congress and access to the place. Four federal forces intervene in the operation: Airport Security Police (PSA), Gendarmerie, Prefecture and Argentine Federal Police (PFA). They are supported by infantry, special groups and motorized brigades. Five hydrant trucks will lead the deployment.

“If the objective is to provoke the (anti-picketing) protocol, then we will use more force to prevent them from doing so.”. If they are there all day, they will have to be orderly“, Minister Bullrich told this medium yesterday.

His words are aligned with the announcement that far-left groups have already made, camping or holding a vigil if the debate continues and there is no intermission.

As they did on other occasions, the picketers and social movements will reach the vicinity of Plaza Congreso, in front of the parliament, in public transport. From early on, smaller groups began to meet at subway and train stations such as Liniers, Once, Lima, Retiro and Constitución, among others.

Some social and political leaders, such as Juan Grabois already announced that his supporters will meet from 10 in the morning at the intersection of Virrey Ceballos and Hipólito Yrigoyen. “Cadets of wealth” called on the senators who will vote in favor of the bill that the Executive Branch sent to parliament. “We have to confront them and show the people’s rejection of the delivery of natural resources and the money laundering that they will allow to drug traffickers,” argued the leader of Argentina Humana.

All the organizations that make up the Popular Economy Workers Union (UTEP) meet at that same intersection, but with a time difference.

For example, at 9:30 the members of the Classist and Combative Current (CCC) are scheduled to disembark. Due to the claim, they indicated that they will “express our categorical rejection to the Bases Law that the national government of Javier Milei”. And they argue their disagreement with the elimination of the Social Monotax, the cut to pensions, labor flexibility, and the reduction of the Budget for Social Programs.

The Evita Movement and Barrios de Pie will arrive at Plaza Congreso an hour later. Alejandro Gramajoleader of Evita and general secretary of the UTEP, asked his militants to gather at that end of Plaza Congreso from 10 in the morning to “demand that the senators that they are not complicit in the plundering of Argentina and the planned misery what this Government is doing.”

As described before Infobae leaders of the main forces that will demonstrate today, the bulk of the protesters will enter CABA on public transportation to avoid being intercepted by police officers. For that reason they will avoid traveling in buses and vans. At least in the early hours of the morning they will move in groups of no more than 20 or 30 people without interrupting traffic and without flags or balaclavas.

“The Homeland is not for sale”, one of the slogans of Kirchnerism that can be seen around Parliament

The main meeting places are subway and train stations such as Retiro, Constitución, Lima, Once and Liniers. They will travel through avenues and streets such as Entre Ríos, Callao, Solís, Rodríguez Peña, Virrey Ceballos, Montevideo, Saénz Peña, Paraná, San José, Uruguay, Hipólito Yrigoyen, Rivadavia and Avenida de Mayo, among others.

The presence of unions that make up the CGT, such as truck drivers, the two CTA, the Association of State Workers, Kirchnerist sectors, Peronist mayors; officials of the Buenos Aires government of Axel Kicillof; UTEP, allows some organizers to get excited about a “massive call”. Something that did not happen on April 29, the day the Lower House gave half sanction to the Law of Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines by 142 positive votes, 106 negative votes and 5 abstentions.

These columns, which will try to circumvent the anti-picketing protocol, will be joined by left-wing parties, picketing organizations, retirees, students, and neighborhood assemblies, among others.

The legislative palace woke up fenced to contain the protesters

The Polo Obrero, the MST, FOL, Nuestra América, the National Piquetero Block and the MST-Teresa Vive called for 9 in the morning, but there were already activists who held a “vigil” to hang their flags in privileged places and observe on site the first movements of the federal forces. They do it in every important march.

Alexander Bodartleader of the MST-FITU, remarked: “It is increasingly evident that the adjustment is paid by the people. And now, on top of that, they want to vote within the Base Law for an anti-worker labor reform, while scandals grow over charges to get votes, complaints for libertarian ‘gnocchi’, bonuses and trout tenders. The supposed ‘anti-caste’ only defend the privileges of the 1% and want to deepen it with this surrenderist Law. We are not going to allow it”.

There are dozens of police vehicles in the Congress area

For its part, Celeste Fierrocity deputy for the same left-wing space, said that La Libertad Avanza: “He wants to raffle the country to national and foreign corporationsdeliver our common goods, guarantee benefits for the rich with the sacrifice of millions and give extraordinary powers so that Milei adjusts much more” and warned: “There is no protocol that prevents us from filling Congress Plaza against the disastrous Bases Law. “We are going to be thousands and thousands in the streets against this government’s entire plan.”

Eduardo Bellibonileader of the Polo Obrero, and accused in the case of extortion against beneficiaries of social programs and using alleged trout invoices to justify expenses of agreements signed with the State, predicted: “The popular mobilization that is going to occur in response to the treatment of the law Bases will be essential for stop Milei’s war plan against the popular majorities.” Meanwhile, he highlighted: “We are in the presence of a government that is implementing a deadly blow against the workerswhile an enormous level of corruption is exposed with the designation of gnocchi, diversion of funds and all kinds of outrages that show them for what they are, a criminal gang in charge of the State, which persecutes and attacks the fighters trying to divert the attention of the population.”

The front of the Ministry of Economy is also full of parades and flags

The government of Javier Milei and Minister Patricia Bullrich will once again test the anti-picketing protocol.

Until now, the security forces prevailed over the challenges of the picketers who knew how to give them strength and They tried to break the protocol. There were times when it ended in serious incidents with injuries and arrests. Others in which the rules were respected and the leaders themselves decided to remain within the limits of Plaza Congreso and the protest developed in order.

Without a doubt, the volume of the columns and the number of protesters will be crucial for the development of a day that looks tense and long.
