Inhabitants of the urban area of the municipality of Cajibío, Cauca, reported the attack on the Police station by members of the front Jaime Martínez of the FARC.
The harassment began in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, June 12, when More than 100 rebels arrived in the city center and then threw explosives at the uniformed men, and then attacked them with rifle rounds, according to witnesses in the area.
“It was quite strong, we are very scared because the shots were fired in the middle of the houses, next to the Police station grandparents and children live, hence many were trapped in those shootings,” said residents of this municipality in the center of the Cauca.
Afterwards, and in order to support the police, from Popayan Several helicopters left, from which they later attacked the dissidents, causing them to flee the urban area.

“The fear increased because those strafing from helicopters“That was for several minutes while we were not hiding under the beds and tables, a situation that lasted until the early hours of the morning,” said Edwin Calambas, a merchant from this municipality.
In one of the videos circulating on social networks you can see how one of the dissidents, after taking cover behind a truck, shoots at the police officers. In another recording you can see what the strafing was like from one of the helicopters that still fly over this part of central Cauca.
Following the timely intervention of the Army and other police groups prevented further damage to the station, as well as a takeover of this municipality.

Meanwhile, the communities confirm that they are several homes damaged by this armed incursion, as evidenced in the videos and photographs that he shares now that the fighting has moved to the rural area.
