The national senator for Tierra del Fuego, Cristina López (UxP)starred in a strong controversy in the debate over the Bases Law, which is being carried out in Congress, after calling President Javier Milei “mentally ill” and requesting his resignation for being “mentally incapacitated.”
“I am going to call on the senators, we need to urgently work on a bill to protect the Argentine people from future presidents like Milei, who I consider to be mentally ill. Which by definition is called a ‘mental illness as a health disorder’. That is, disorders that affect the mood, thinking and behavior of people,” he shot bluntly.
Regarding the initiative to “protect the people from future leaders with mental illnesses,” López added that it should be applied to anyone who “wants to sit in Rivadavia’s chair, or occupy another position and wants to lead the Argentine people, and are psychologically fit.” , which is clearly not what is happening (in reference to Milei).”
“I make this request because only a mentally ill person, manipulated by a small group of accomplices, shameless people and serial debtors, sends Congress a Basic Law and a fiscal package that everything that is written is against the working people.. And the only beneficiaries are the business groups. If this madness is approved, Argentina will be plunged into misery,” she lashed out.
The Fuegian legislator returned to the fray by pointing out that ““Only a mentally ill person, without social sensitivity, removes subsidies from Patagonia, and even more so from Tierra del Fuego, knowing that it is a cold and southernmost area in the world.”and gave as an example the gas increases of more than 1,200% that arrived in the province in May.
“It takes a lot of cruelty to remove subsidies a month before winter begins. You have to be very mentally ill to paralyze public works, leaving more than 100,000 workers on the streets, to remove transportation subsidies, cut the budget of public schools and universities, and eliminate trusts. And also to destroy entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized Argentine companies,” he noted.
And he fired again: “You have to be cruel, ruthless and mentally ill to celebrate a zero deficit at the expense of people’s suffering and hunger. The zero deficit is not being paid by the caste as the president promised and lied during the campaign. But hey, what could he care? As he said, ‘there will come a time when people are going to die of hunger, and somehow they will decide something to avoid dying.’
Finally, He closed his exhibition requesting Milei’s resignationand/or proposing to his peers a political trial as an alternative, considering that “he is not qualified to continue being the head of state,” and insisted that he is a “mentally incapacitated, very destructive and influential president who believes himself to be apocalyptic and a mole who hates the State.”.
