The Santa Fe Men’s Soccer Cup continues in full activity and this Wednesday night it had three revenge matches in its second stage.

Centenario de San José de lacorner was one of the teams that made the grade this Wednesday night. The thing is that in the first leg they had lost 2 to 0 against Racing de Villada at home. However, León won 3-1 as a visitor, forced penalties and qualified.

The Interprovincial League team started winning with a goal from Joaquín Marchegiani at the end of the first half. In the complement, Lautaro Ministeri partially equalized it for Racing; but finally Federico Gentiletti and Felipe Ciccarelli scored the goals to force the finish from eleven meters. There the visit became strong, they won 5 to 4 and now they will have to face Central Córdoba de Rosario, a Primera C team, in the third round.

Juventud Pueyrredón was another of the teams that qualified through penalties. In the first leg it had been 1 to 1 against Atlético Elortondo and this Wednesday it was time to define in Venado Tuerto. The goals of the match took place in the complement, when Juventud played with one man less due to the expulsion of Jeremías Pérez in the first half. Alan Sanz opened the penalty score for the local team, while Leonel López equalized the scores for Elortondo’s team. In the penalty shootout, Juventud Pueyrredón won 3-2 and advanced to the next stage, where they will face Racing de Teodelina.

The Academy qualified after leaving Jorge Newbery of Venado Tuerto behind. This Wednesday night it was a 0-0 draw in the duel played in Teodelina, and with Racing’s 2-0 victory in the first leg, the Albiceleste team sealed its classification.

Each of the teams that qualified from this point was awarded the prize of 600,000 pesos stipulated by the Cup. The rest of the matches in the second phase will be played during this weekend.
