Around noon this Thursday, June 13, the communication department of National Roads reported on the havoc caused by the Zonda wind on the different routes in the departments far from San Juan. Firstly, damage was recorded on route 150 that connects Jáchal with Ischigualasto. National Roads was able to explain that there was rockfall, poor and almost zero visibility in some sectors of the road and the drop in internet service and cell phone signal.

On the other hand, on national route 153, near Sarmiento, light poles fell. In this way, the municipality decided to suspend some planned activities. In Sarmiento the event was planned with a parade and procession, due to inclement weather, the municipality announced that the celebration will be moved to next Saturday, July 13 at 3 p.m.

Also, the Zonda wind caused damage on Route 40 South, San Juan – Mendoza road, where strong gusts could be perceived. In this way, they urged drivers to exercise maximum caution, since visibility is poor due to the dust found in the environment.
