The incident occurred in December of last year in Coyhaique.

The Oral Criminal Trial Court of Coyhaique sentenced Luciano Leandro Quezada Arredondo to five years and one day in prison, as the perpetrator of the crime of attempted robbery in an inhabited place, intended for the habitation or its premises, illegal act committed in December of last year in the commune.

In a unanimous ruling, the court also applied to Quezada Arredondo the legal accessories of absolute perpetual disqualification for public positions or offices and political rights and absolute disqualification for tenured professions for the duration of the sentence.

Once the ruling is enforceable, the court ordered that biological samples be taken from the convicted person to determine his genetic fingerprint and incorporation into the national DNA registry of convicted persons.

The court considered it proven, beyond all reasonable doubt, that at approximately 11:45 p.m. on December 24, 2023, Quezada Arredondo went to a home located on Bilbao Street, where he proceeded to jump over the perimeter fence of the property to stealing species from a warehouse, located in the patio, but was surprised by Carabineros.

Acuña Gutiérrez was finally convicted of the frustrated crime of robbery in an uninhabited place.
