At the end of May, the amnesty law was being discussed in the Spanish parliament and right-wing parliamentarians launched a series of insults against the Sumar leader.

A tense discussion took place in the Congress of Spain on May 30, which ended up going viral on social networks. Right-wing deputies insulted a legislator of Argentine origin by calling him “tucumán”.

During the session that dealt with the Amnesty Law, the deputy Gerardo Pisarello (Sumar), who was born in Tucumán and became a Spanish national, stated: “They are fanatical right-wing groups capable of elevating deranged characters like Milei, an admirer of Mussolini like Meloni and even a criminal like Netanyahu with the corpses of children and Rafah’s girls still hot…”

After the legislator’s intervention, it was the turn of Santiago Abascalleader of VOX, who accused Pisarello of carrying out policies contrary to Spain and of hating that country.

Those words caused a torrent of insults to be unleashed against the parliamentarian, which focused on his South American origin. According to some media reports, they called Pisarello “a traitor, corrupt, coward, villain, fool, sudaca and tucumán.”
