This is becoming the main challenge of this branch of special education, Osmel Garrido Valiente, a methodologist at the Ministry of Education who deals with Job Training, told the Cuban News Agency (ACN) exclusively, since today Cuba lives a different reality than the one that existed when this educational program emerged.
One of the successes of the Collective of Authors was to take as a pillar the forms of work of the III improvement of education, a strategy that is generalized in all Cuban educational centers and therefore, the specialties of special education are also immersed in this process.
Julio Antonio Conill Armenteros, Vice Chancellor of International Relations of the Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca University, in Pinar del Río, told the ACN that this event transcends as an updating exercise for methodologists, so that they are in better conditions to promote a successful curricular conception, educational projects and networking.
The Collective of Authors allowed us to analyze how this process is taking place in teaching and draw up guidelines that reveal new ways of doing things in schools, which contributes directly to the improvement of teachers and better results in the comprehensive training of students. added Iraida Cruz Barcelonay, Head of the Department of Special Education and Speech Therapy at the Enrique José Varona Pedagogical University, in Havana.
Special education in Cuba is at an important moment today because all the changes that are taking place since the III improvement have their impact on this educational program, from the vision of making curricular adjustments without the need to eliminate content, concluded the specialist.
