Chile Chico.- “The boarding and disembarking maneuvers of the La Tehuelche ship will continue to be developed in the port infrastructure of Puerto Ibáñez and in Chile Chico, but since we have to carry out the conservation of the “west” ramp in Puerto Ibáñez, Landing maneuvers will be carried out on the “east” ramp, located next to the Passenger Shelter. In this way, among the preventive measures to maintain the safety of people and vehicles, on the esplanade we are demarcating with danger signs and closing with mesh sectors of excavations or passage of machinery; In the Passenger Shelter we are closing the bathroom and nursing area with wooden boards, we are incorporating danger signage and information about the work and the use of the Terminal for passenger shelter and the enabled delivery of the bathroom has been coordinated with the company. in the shed building (museum) for use. The West Ramp will be disabled on June 17, 2024, with authorization from the Navy and the captain of the barge La Tehuelche, and that same day the entire polygon of the museum parking lots and the west ramp will be closed with mesh. and respective signage. Meanwhile, the East Ramp from Monday, June 17 of this year will be used for boarding and disembarking the barge, with the authorization of the Navy and captain of the barge La Tehuelche. This sector was completely demarcated with signage paint; Lateral cones were installed for signaling, reflective beacons in road defense to view vehicles and trucks, and two lighting spotlights on the side to view the ramp and esplanade. Additionally, on Wednesday night, June 12, tests were carried out on disembarkation and embarkation maneuvers on the ramp, with no problems,” said Álvaro Díaz Contreras.

Interventions will also be carried out inside the Passenger Shelter, so we are coordinating with the contractor company and with the connectivity service operating company so that the works are as least invasive as possible and that we can provide the security that corresponds to the boarding maneuvers. and disembarkation of people and vehicles moving from Puerto Ibáñez to Chile Chico. These works have an investment of close to 900 million pesos, resources that will allow us to carry out the work in its entirety, which makes us satisfied, because we are acting in time to be able to solve the problems that the Shelter in Puerto Ibáñez currently presents. where in addition to repairing the heating system we are going to build standardization works for universal accessibility, interior signage, preserve the concrete walls of the ramp, tiles and paint. Also, restore railings, vehicular and pedestrian pavements, lighting, garbage cans and seats. Meanwhile, in the port area in Chile Chico, conservation works will be carried out on the floating dock, the rollers of the bascule bridge and the structure’s anti-corrosion protection system will be repaired. Also, a survey of anchorages will be carried out and the pontoon will be relocated, among other works.
The conservation works of land and sea port infrastructure in Puerto Ibáñez and Chile Chico are carried out by the company Constructora Calafquen Spa, under the supervision of the DOP-MOP; Together, both works project to provide 25 jobs and have an execution time of 240 days. “For us it is important that the community keep in mind that we will be carrying out these works and that it is necessary to make these adjustments to be able to obtain our infrastructure in optimal operating conditions at the end of this contract,” concluded Álvaro Díaz Contreras.
