The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, proposed this Friday the creation of a research center for “traditional and ancestral medicine” in the state of Amazonas, without specifying further details.

During the inauguration of an imaging and oncology room at a clinic in Amazonas, Maduro expressed the need to scientifically explore and validate the region’s ancestral medicinal practices.

“TWe have to install and open, here in Amazonas, a powerful scientific research center for traditional and ancestral medicine, and convert ancestral medicine into the medicine of science.“, he expressed.

Maduro mentioned that the new center would be focused on studying the healing properties of ancestral medicinal practices.although it did not specify the specific methods or mention scientific support for these practices.

The Venezuelan president expressed his intention to realize this idea during the second half of the year, installing the center in Puerto Ayacucho to treat various diseases.

He highlighted the medicinal wealth of Amazonas, stating that in this region the “secrets” to cure “all diseases” are found.

This proposal by Maduro seeks to integrate ancestral knowledge with modern science, promoting the medicinal potential of the Venezuelan Amazon region internationally.
