Education grants 921 mobility scholarships for university students studying outside of La Rioja

The Ministry of Education and Employment has granted 921 complementary scholarships for university studies outside the Autonomous Community for a total of 1,368,000 euros. The objective of this aid is the partial financing of the current expenses derived from carrying out face-to-face teaching that leads to obtaining an official Bachelor’s or Master’s degree that qualifies or is a necessary condition for the exercise of a regulated profession.

Of the 921 scholarships awarded for the 2023/2024 academic year, 909 are awarded for an amount of 1,500 euros and the remaining 12 for 375 euros, as they are students carrying out the Final Degree / Master’s Project or are in the last year of degree and are enrolled in less than 30 credits.

63,700 euros more than the previous call

Compared to the previous call, the Ministry of Education and Employment has increased the amount allocated for this course by more than 63,700 euros and has raised the income threshold of the family unit by 20%, with the aim of benefiting more students and alleviating the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) that Rioja families have had to face.

To be eligible for these scholarships, students must be carrying out studies that are not taught in person in La Rioja or have not obtained a place in courses available in person in the region due to not reaching the cut-off mark for the academic year in which they They began their studies. Among the conditions for granting them, academic requirements are established, such as average grades and percentages of approved credits, as well as economic requirements based on aspects such as income and assets.
