A new violent event was recorded in the north of the department of Cauca. In Miranda three people were murdered on the night of Friday, June 14when armed individuals approached them and attacked them without saying a word.

The victims were identified as: Álvaro Sánchez, Johnny Gómez González and Brayan Mezu; Young people who, according to the same community, were apparently homeless people.

Leonardo González, director of Indepaz, pointed out that “The situation in the department is very serious, especially in the north of Cauca.where the Dagoberto Ramos, Jaime Martínez fronts and their dissident front, the 57th front, are generating all types of violent actions, especially against the civilian population.”

Meanwhile, Walter Zúñiga Barona, mayor of the municipality of Miranda, regretted what happened and rejected that “Acts of violence like these continue to attack our young Mirandeños, especially those living on the streets and affected by the scourge of drugs.

At the moment, the authorities are investigating this triple murder, which becomes the 29th massacre in the country so far in 2024.
