June 15, 2024 was marked as a historic day for the Atlético Bucaramanga, as it managed to take its first star after beating the capital team Independiente Santa Fe at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá.

Thanks to this triumph, the governor of Santander, Juvenal Díaz, decreed a civic day throughout the department for Monday, June 17.
In decree 0179, which consists of five articles, it reads: “Declare a civic day on Monday, June 17, 2024 in the city of Bucaramangafor the purposes of the celebration and commemoration of the obtaining of the first title of the Bucaramanga professional soccer team, Atlético Bucaramanga, as Champion of the Colombian Professional Soccer League – Liga BetPlay 1 2024.”
For this reason, no work activities or customer service will be carried out in the Municipal Central Administration. This Monday will be considered a “non-business” day.
In which cases does the average civic day not apply in Santander?
According to the first paragraph, “public servants who, due to their functions, are excepted from the day indicated in the first article. must comply with special work schedules and shifts on a permanent basis, as well as the personnel in charge of those contractual processes that must be carried out without interruption, which will continue according to the previously established schedules.”.
Likewise, “public servants who, due to the nature of their functions, have the objective of providing essential public services, such as police, public health, emergencies, disaster response and prevention, mobility, security and public order; who will carry out their duties normally.”
The civic day will begin to take effect from zero hours on Monday, June 17 until 11:59 pm that same day.
